Getting started

Start small. Make the connection.

Learn the framework by building one module, sending one request, and observing one broadcast.

Your first DQMH workflow.

  1. Install and open the examples

Install DQMH through VIPM. Open the included Thermal Chamber example to see how responsibilities are split across modules.

    Get the framework
  2. Create your project

Start from the DQMH project template. Choose one responsibility for your first module and give it a descriptive name.

  3. Explore the two loops

Look at the Event Handling Loop and the Message Handling Loop. Follow how a public request reaches the code that carries out the work.

  4. Create a request

Use the DQMH event scripting tools to create an event. Put the module-specific implementation into the generated message-handling case.

  5. Try the API Tester

Start the module from its API Tester and trigger your request. Watch the module’s responses before integrating it into a larger application.

  6. Connect a second module

Register for a broadcast and let a second module react to it. Keep each module’s internal implementation behind its public API.
